The City Girls and Nicki Minaj Have The Song of The Summer ?!? Dope Playlist of The Week !

Over the past weekend, many music drops have left other music connoisseurs and me busy. To start, The Queen, Nicki Minaj dropped her famed mixtape “Beam Me Up Scotty” on all streaming platforms on May 14. The mixtape included all of the project’s original songs and a few additions such as “Seeing Green” featuring Lil Wayne and Drake (The Big Three), “Fractions,” and “Crocodile Teeth (Remix)” by Skillibeng. This mixtape drop had “The Barbz” on social media going crazy. Songs like “Itty Bitty Piggy” and “Boss A** Bi***” seem that they will be the hot song of the Summer.

Other artists such as” The Migos” also dropped their single “Straightenin” on May 14. The group has been posting pictures in the studio and more via Instagram teasing their next studio album, “Culture III,” but no release date has been confirmed. The song did not get much attention on social media due to them dropping on the same day as Nicki Minaj and J.Cole. But, the music is fire.

The North Carolina Native, J.Cole, released his long-awaited and anticipated album “The Off-Season” on May 14. The project featured 12 lyrically possessed songs that included features from Lil Baby, 6LACK, 21 Savage, and more. Tracks such as “a m a r i.”, “m y. l i f e”, and “ P r i d e. i s. t h e. d e v i l” are some of the most popular songs from his project.

Not only that, But the City Girls, who have dominated the Summer in the past, have released the song that has been popular among the Tik Tok world, “Twerkulator.” This song took some time to come out because the artist was trying to get the song cleared. People via TikTok only knew the song because of a snippet posted a while ago of JT’s verse. “Twerkulator” is heavily sampled from the early 80s hip hop song “Planet Rock” by Afrika Bambaataa and Soulsonic Force. Many people on social media, including the City Girls, are declaring “Twerkulator” as the summer song.

At this point, Many songs have been contenders of “The Song of The Summer.” We only have a month left to see which song will be played on repeat at day parties and clubs. With that being said, I hope you all enjoy our “Dope Playlist of The Week,” and stay tuned for next week!
