Jacquemus Spring 2021 Ready-to-Wear Collection Review

Despite what other high fashion brands are doing right now amid spring 2021, couture, and pre fall season, Jacquemus is opting for something different. Instead of doing his Spring 2021 Ready-To-Wear collection digitally through a look book, he decided to still have a runway show with an audience.

The audience was not how a usual Jacquemus show or any other fashion would be. It was only about 100 guest sitting six feet apart. The guest were separated by a thick bulk of wheat that looked aesthetically pleasing.

The setting of the fashion show was to give rise to an authentic and romance side of the Jacquemus brand. The French Vexin Regional Natural Park had a 600 meter long runway that was simple yet such a laid back aesthetic.

According to Vogue Runway, Porte Jacquemus said he wanted this collection to be a talk of love and celebration. The inspiration he was going for is perfect for the climate that we are in right now due to COVID-19. The main goal for this collection was for everyone that is sitting at home to create a “bubble-like” vibe. The name of the collection was L’Amour which is to announce the love he has for his design team. The clothing pieces in the collection allude to the feelings that people are having during the past 6 months in quarantine.

The clothing in this collection consisted a lot of canvas based fabric such as long spaghetti strap dresses, mini dresses, two piece sets and so much more. These pieces brought out the feel of a refined vibe to the setting of the Fashion show. Along with the fresh and pure looks of womenswear, there was also a handful of menswear that was showcased in this collection of ‘love and celebration’. The menswear pieces were big and baggy but also appealing to the eye. The aesthetic of the menswear blended well with the womenswear collection. A piece that stuck out from the collection in a significant way was this grey linen menswear two piece suit with heart cut outs. This truly embodied the theme and inspiration of the collection.

Along with the flawless and authentic looks from the collection were also an abundant of statement Jewelry pieces that went amazing with the collection. Chunky gold jewelry went hand and hand the vibe of this collection. Chunky gold jewelry has been a huge fashion/accessories trend for a few seasons now. They are a jewlery piece that goes great with minimal looks like the ones walking down the runway.

In this collection as well, Porte Jacquemus also addresses a lot of problems and issues with the fashion community today. These problems include diversity, inclusiveness, and a lot more authentic clothing pieces.
